  • ChatGPT only, rechecked 2026.10.03: Pro 100 ($100), Pro 200 ($200) and Pro 500 ($500) are listed; new Pro 200 subscriptions are available again, and Ultrafast is included only with Pro 500.
  • Anthropic’s 50% Claude Code weekly bonus ended September 14, replaced by a “permanent 25% increase.” Measured against the bonus level, that is roughly a 17% cut.
  • Since June, Grok has merged per-product daily limits into one weekly usage pool. Your reset time is shown under Settings > Usage.

How to read this

Providers publish limits differently. The current OpenAI help page does not publish exact message counts or fixed 5x/20x multipliers for Pro 100, 200 and 500; it gives relative included usage. Multipliers for other providers retain the observation dates shown in their rows and change log.

2. Limit Structure by Service

ChatGPT (OpenAI)

  • Pro tiers: Pro 100 is $100/month, Pro 200 is $200, and Pro 500 is $500. OpenAI describes Pro 200 as including more usage than Pro 100 and Pro 500 as the highest of the three.
  • New subscriptions: Pro 200 subscriptions are available again. New subscriptions without grandfathering may receive a lower allowance than the earlier Pro 200 version.
  • Ultrafast: included only with Pro 500 among Pro plans. At launch, buying credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock it.
  • Credits and limits: credits support eligible usage in Codex, ChatGPT Work and certain document apps. They do not increase every model or feature allowance; check the account Usage screen for model-specific availability and reset times.
  • GPT-5.5 retirement (complete): as scheduled, GPT-5.5 retired from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex across all plans on October 14, 2026 at noon PDT. The OpenAI API and API-key-authenticated Codex sessions are unaffected. The replacement default for Codex with ChatGPT sign-in is GPT-6.1 Sol.

Claude (Anthropic)

  • 5-hour session limit: a rolling window from your first message. Doubled for Claude Code since May 6.
  • Weekly cap: resets at a fixed day and time assigned to your account. All models share one pool; Fable 5.1 is capped at 50% of it on Max.
  • When exceeded: wait, or buy usage credits at API rates. Claude Code can auto-continue a session once the limit resets.
  • /limit-reset: a command that appeared for some accounts in early September. Clears the 5-hour session limit once a week (weekly cap unchanged). A/B tested, undocumented.

Gemini (Google)

  • Expressed as plan multipliers (Plus 2x < Pro 4x < Ultra 5x/20x, vs. Free). Daily limits vary by model.
  • Ultra adds Deep Think, the most compute-intensive models, and 35,000 AI credits.
  • Model access change (now officially confirmed): per Google Help (17004136), the free plan has been limited to auto-selected Flash-Lite since Oct 9. AI Plus loses the ability to select Pro models starting November 13 (delayed from the initially announced Oct 9), leaving Flash and Flash-Lite. AI Pro and Ultra are unaffected and gain Gemini 4 Argon and Deep Think.

Grok (xAI)

  • Restructured (2026.10.12): xAI retired separate SuperGrok and X Premium plans in favor of “The X Subscription,” which bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X into one plan. All new sign-ups start on this structure. Existing SuperGrok/X Premium subscribers can keep their current plan or switch (with a prorated refund); switching is optional.
  • Grok, Grok Bot, and Cursor share one weekly usage pool. Grok Bot is included from Premium up; the Plus tier does not include it.
  • Reset is a weekly schedule attached to your account, shown in Settings > Usage. When empty: buy top-up credits or upgrade.

  • 2026.10.19 Confirmed and applied three real changes. (1) xAI merged SuperGrok and X Premium into “The X Subscription” (Free/$8/$30/$100/$200) on 10/12 (xAI official announcement); existing subscribers can keep their old plan. (2) Google’s official Help pages now state the Gemini AI Plus price as $4.99 (the tracker’s prior $7.99 was stale, predating a June 2026 price cut) and confirm November 13 as the date AI Plus loses Pro model access (delayed from the initially reported Oct 9; Google Help 17004136 plus a subscriber notification email). (3) OpenAI retired GPT-5.5 from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex on 10/14 at noon PDT as announced on 9/14 (API unaffected); Codex’s default model moved to GPT-6.1 Sol (API $2/$10, cached $0.10).
  • 2026.10.03 · ChatGPT only rechecked Reflected reopened Pro 200 subscriptions, Pro 500 ($500), and Ultrafast availability. Removed current 5x/20x claims and old paid-reset advice from the live rows and FAQ because they are not in the current OpenAI help page. Claude, Gemini and Grok retain their earlier observation dates.
  • 2026.09.28 Checked, no official changes to ChatGPT/Codex plans, limits, or API pricing this week. Note: a 56-minute Codex outage on Sep 25 was followed by reports of a paid-user limit reset (as reported; OpenAI’s official status page does not mention a reset).
  • 2026.09.23 Tracker first published. Reflects the ChatGPT Pro $200 sign-up pause (Sep 10, OpenAI Help).
  • 2026.09.21 Grok 4.7 released; API pricing stays $2/$6 (xAI).
  • 2026.09.14 Claude Code 50% weekly bonus ends, replaced by a permanent 25% increase (Anthropic; MindStudio analysis).
  • 2026.09.10 OpenAI pauses new ChatGPT Pro $200 sign-ups and upgrades (OpenAI Help).
  • 2026.09.03 GPT-6 Astra launch; every Plus, Pro, and Business user credited one banked reset (OpenAI Codex team).
  • 2026.08.26 Grok Bot weekly limits reset for all users; expanded to SuperGrok and Cursor Pro (xAI).
  • 2026.08.16 OpenAI paid reset test confirmed (Plus $5 to 8, Pro up to $80, TestingCatalog).
  • 2026.08.10 Anthropic cancels the Sonnet 5 standard price increase ($3/$15); intro pricing stays.
  • 2026.06.12 OpenAI introduces banked Codex resets plus a referral reward (Jun 11 to 24).
  • 2026.06 xAI merges per-product daily limits into a single weekly pool.
  • 2026.05.20 Google I/O: AI Ultra cut from $250 to $199.99; new $99.99 tier.
  • 2026.05.06 Anthropic doubles Claude Code 5-hour limits and removes peak-hour reductions (SpaceX compute deal).
  • 6. FAQ

When does my Claude limit reset?

Two clocks run separately. The 5-hour session limit clears five hours after your first message; the weekly cap clears at a fixed day and time assigned to your account. See the exact time at claude.ai/new/usage.

Can I subscribe to ChatGPT Pro 200 now?

Yes. OpenAI Help checked October 3, 2026 says new Pro 200 subscriptions are available again. A new subscription without grandfathering may receive a lower allowance than the earlier version.

Can Pro 100 or Pro 200 use Ultrafast?

No. Ultrafast is included only with Pro 500 among the Pro plans. At launch, buying credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock it.

Do purchased credits increase every ChatGPT limit?

No. Credits support eligible usage in Codex, ChatGPT Work and certain document apps. They do not add usage to every model or feature.

Other provider rows retain the observation dates in the existing change log. Only the ChatGPT Pro rows and related FAQ were rechecked against official OpenAI help on October 3, 2026. Prices and limits can change without notice; verify the official pricing page and the Usage screen on the account before paying.
