Meta Muse vs Grok Bot Personal Assistant vs AI Team

Would you rather hand your to-do list to one assistant who knows you inside out, or to a small team of specialists? Meta’s Muse and xAI’s Grok Bot both run on dedicated cloud computers and keep working after you close the app, but they answer that question differently. Muse aims to be one assistant who knows you deeply; Grok Bot gives you a team of Bots you can dispatch to different jobs.

TL;DR
  • Muse (Meta, Sep 8) and Grok Bot (xAI, Aug 11) are both AI agents with a cloud computer of their own. Muse is one personal assistant for daily life; Grok Bot is a team of role-based Bots for repeatable work. Muse is free to start in the US and Canada; Grok Bot comes with paid Cursor plans (from $20 a month) or SuperGrok subscriptions.

Same Job, Two Products: A Trip and Multi-Client Support

Muse centers the experience on talking to one personal assistant, while Grok Bot emphasizes setting up several Bots with different roles. But the number of assistants you see is separate from the number of agents running inside. According to Meta’s security write-up, Muse also hands browser work to a dedicated sub-agent and can run several sub-agents at once.

The difference shows most clearly when you give both products the same job.

Planning one tripYou tell your one Muse the goal. It builds the itinerary from preferences it has stored (budget, seats, a companion’s dietary needs), and a browser sub-agent searches flights and hotels. Before paying, it shows the exact purchase details and asks for approval. One Bot can handle it, or you can split research and booking between two Bots. For a single personal trip, splitting roles adds little. Consequential steps such as payment are handed back to you for approval.
Handling inquiries for several clientsMuse is built to help one person with their work, so inquiries from different clients run through the same conversation and memory. It can draft replies; sending happens within the permissions you have granted. You can create Bots by role (intake, research, reply drafts) and let them pass work to each other in a group chat. A method that worked can be saved as a skill and run daily as a routine. All Bots share one computer per user, though, so separate Bots do not isolate one client’s data from another’s.

In short, work that depends on one person’s life context suits the personal-assistant model, and work that runs several streams in parallel suits the role-based team. Meta’s own roadmap leans the same way: at Connect on September 23 it announced new Muse connectors centered on shopping (Walmart and Best Buy, with Shop Pay and PayPal for payments) and said Expedia travel booking is coming soon, while work tools such as Notion and GitHub are a smaller part of the list. Either way, set payments and outgoing messages to require human approval.

Verification note: updated Sep 25 and Oct 6, 2026
  • Oct 6, 2026: corrected Grok Bot pricing (included with paid Cursor plans and SuperGrok tiers since Aug 26), platforms (Android app since Sep 2), and training-data settings per xAI and Cursor docs; added the Oct 2 Main Bot option and Muse plan prices and availability.
  • “Agent count 1 vs many” now describes the assistant setup users see. Meta’s security write-up says Muse uses a browser sub-agent and can run concurrent sub-agents.
  • “Learning” was split into memory storage, procedure (skill) creation, and model-weight training. Per xAI’s docs, a teach-a-task recording produces a draft skill to review.

Approval Still Needs Attention

Repeated approval prompts can lead people to click without reading. Check the target and consequences before approving payments, outgoing messages, or deletions; an approval gate alone does not remove the risk of a mistake. Grok Bot’s September 30 update also lets you switch off draft review for email and Slack on a per-Bot basis, which means that Bot sends directly, so use it sparingly.

Selection Guide

  • Muse fits when: You are in the US or Canada, personal life admin is the goal, you already use Instagram or WhatsApp, you want to see and edit what it remembers, and you want to start free.
  • Grok Bot fits when: Business process automation is the goal, you need multiple types of tasks running simultaneously, turning a screen demonstration into a draft procedure you review appeals to you, and you already pay for Cursor or SuperGrok.
  • Neither fits when: You need to self-host, want to pick your own model (neither lets you; Cursor chooses Grok Bot’s models and the vendor mix can change), or work in a regulated industry with data export restrictions.
Before choosing, decide one thing: is the work your own life admin or your team’s repeatable workflows? The first points to Muse, the second to Grok Bot. This article is based on the Korean original.
